For snacks, i personally don’t prefer buns to puff-puff (texture issues) but i don’t like puff-puff either because it absorbs a lot of oil and thats not a plus at allllll (more like a minus) so i decided to play safe, buns (buns doesnt absorb as much oil).
This buns is a soft moist buns that isnt as dry as the regular buns and is perfect in sweetness and flavour.
Ps its quick and easy to make!
YOU WILL NEED
A bowl (for mixing)
A teaspoon (for measuring)
A tablespoon ( for measuring)
A measuring cup (standard)
An Ice-Cream scoop (spoon)
A deep fryer
Oil absorbent / paper towel
300grams Flour (all purpose flour)
2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
2 tablespoons of milk
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg powder
1/5 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1 cup of Luke warm water
Vegetable oil (for frying) .
Pour the flour into the mixing bowl
(when adding the liquid ingredients, you can pour 3 drops or there about of vanilla essence (personal choice), its serves as a base flavour that enhances other flavours)
After pouring the dry ingredients in, mix them together.
after scooping, you use another spoon to scoop it out of the ice-cream spoon to form a round ball that gently drops in the fryer. The burner should be on low heat ( the lowest) and when a side is done, you flip over (aim for that golden shade ^^
Once done, you take them out using a wide perforated spoon (serving spoon) place them in the dish (covered with paper towels or oil absorbing disposable napkins. Once they have drained the oil, you are ready to serve to your guests or munch alone :p
