ME: WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
MARY EBELE: I am from Delta state (Nigeria), Asaba to be precise.
ME: WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START UP YOUR WEBSITE?
MARY EBELE: Many years ago about 5 years ago actually I had to leave for New York and I never continued. 5 years later I decided to complete it. I have always been interested in sharing my ideas and my website has turned out to be a great platform. I am very happy to finally have it up and running.
ME: HOW ARE YOUR FREE HOURS LIKE?
MARY EBELE: Free time? Rest. Im busy round the clock so I enjoy relaxing and vacation time is priceless!
MARY EBELE: Thank you! Cooking inspiration is from my MOM. I remember when I was younger- in high school actually, my Mom would force me into the kitchen on saturdays, we always had chefs but she made it priority too cook my dads favorite soups on saturdays as well as other dishes. My job was to sort out her seasoning and break the cubes. That used to upset me so much lol. I’d stay in the kitchen pouting and mumbling under my breath because I wanted to go to the movies with the rest of my friends but yeah, my Mom… She taught me the basics of what I know and passion took over and magnified into what it is today for me. When im cooking I have peace of mind. Im so mesmerised by the process of cooking that I don’t think about anything else but savoring Every moment. Every step. Every flavor lol. Im a foodie. Im so romantic with the meals I prepare. I cook with so much love.
ME: WHAT ARE YOUR LIFESTYLE DO’S AND DON’TS?
MARY EBELE: Lifestyle? My lifestyle revolves around remaining kind and staying happy. So many people put up a front and are going through unimaginable things. Don’t be mean. Have some empathy. And to myself I ask- what is the point of being unhappy? I do what I love and what makes me happy. Never let bitterness overwhelm you.
My lifestyle don’ts- I do not tolerate negative energy in any shape or form. Energies are highly contagious. You cant be a Debby Downer around me sorry, im too much of a Happy-go-lucky person to be around negativity.
Me: YOU ARE LIKE A ‘WOMAN ICON’ TO PEOPLE, HOW DO YOU KEEP UP?
MARY EBELE: Wow thank you! I appreciate that tittle but I would not like to be seen as one because i am just living my life I don’t want anyone to have any kind of expectations from me because I am human like every one else. The attention social media has brought my way is unimaginable. Those who know me, know how big my personality is but my photos are not even a reflection of who I am. There is more to me than meets the eye and I say it with a big smile on my face because of the accuracy in this statement. Its hard to keep up sometimes especially with so many people saying they “know me” when in fact, they know my Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and not me as a person. I am happy about the support I get from people even strangers and I feel truly blessed.
ME: WHAT TIP DO YOU HAVE FOR LADIES OUT THERE?
MARY EBELE: Live your life for YOU, don’t conform to what society expects you to be. Never let anybody belittle your aspirations. Explore your passion. Chase your dreams. Like a moving train, remain unstoppable. Have faith, put in work. It will all be worth it in the end
